The hardest part of setting up a new workshop is deciding what is genuinely necessary. Below is the priority order we see in the field after years of supplying workshops.
1. Basic Hand Tools (Day one)
- Combination wrench set (8–24 mm)
- 1/2" ratchet socket set
- Hex and Torx sets
- Pliers, long-nose, side cutters
- Screwdriver set, hammer, chisels
- Tape measure, square, caliper

2. Drilling and Threading
- HSS drill set (1–13 mm), cobalt bits for stainless
- Tap and die set (M3–M12)

3. Cutting and Grinding
- Angle grinder (115 or 125 mm)
- Cutting discs (standard + INOX), grinding wheels, flap discs

4. Fastener Stock
- DIN 933 / 931 bolts: M6, M8, M10, M12 (grade 8.8)
- DIN 934 nuts and DIN 985 nyloc nuts
- DIN 125 washers, DIN 127 spring washers
- Stainless equivalents for humid environments
5. Air System (As you grow)
- Compressor at 1.5× total tool consumption
- FRL unit: water filter + lubricator
- Impact wrench + CrMo impact sockets

6. Safety (Non-negotiable)
- Eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, safety shoes
- Fire extinguisher
- Certified lifting equipment if you lift loads
